Alisson: Liverpool 'Agree' £62m Fee With AS Roma, Medical Set (Details)

Liverpool are closing on signing Goalkeeper Alisson after AS Roma and the Reds agreed a £66m fee.

Jurgen Klopp wants to make Alisson his no.1 after Loris Karius and Simon Mignolet both failed to impress in the role.

And The Times report Liverpool chiefs are following Klopp's wishes by pushing ahead with a deal for Alisson.

Liverpool are said to be closing on on a World-record signing of the 25-year-old having improved on their earlier bid of £62m on Tuesday.

Highly respected Merseyside-based journalist Paul Joyce says Liverpool’s new offer of £66.8m (€75m) has been accepted by Roma.

Liverpool and Roma were in talks on Wednesday morning over how payments for Alisson will be structured.

And the Reds are now making plans for the shot stopper to undergo a medical, with permission granted to discuss Personal terms.

Chelsea are also keen on Alisson and plan to replace him with Real Madrid bond Thibaut Courtois.

But, The Guardian report the Blues are far behind in a deal for Alisson and are also yet to submit a mid of their own.

Liverpool's progress towards a deal for Alisson has meant the Brazilian spoke to Jurgen Klopp on Tuesday.

And he is believed to have his heart set on a move to last season’s beaten Champions League finalists.

Real Madrid could join the bidding war if Courtois decides against a move to Spain this summer.

But they will have to get involved quickly with Alisson seemingly ready to join former AS Roma teammate Mohamed Salah at Liverpool.

Alisson will be Liverpool's fourth signing after Fabinho, Naby Keita and Xherdan Shaqiri.
