Anthony Joshua: Next Fight? Date? Venue?

Anthony Joshua's next opponent has been confirmed as Alexander Povetkin by Promoter Eddie Hearn.

Last month it was announced that Joshua's next two fights are scheduled for September 22nd and April 13th.

And that let to speculations over who the Boxing 🥊 king will take on first, Povetkin or Wilder?

After Joshua defeated Joseph Parker earlier this year, both Wilder and Joshua exchanged words regarding a potential fight.

Fans were eagerly anticipating a possible unification bout between Joshua and Wilder, but they may now have to wait until April next year.

Povetkin is the WBA mandatory challenger for Joshua, who fought on the Joshua-Parker undercard in Cardiff where he showcased his strength with a brutal knockout against David Price.

Joshua’s promoter Eddie Hearn confirmed the Povetkin-Joshua fight on Twitter.

He said: “IT’S ON! @anthonyfjoshua will defend his WBA ,IBF, WBA and IBO World heavyweight titles against Alexander Povetkin at @wembleystadium on September 22! New York press conf tomorrow and London on Wednesday”

Also, Wilder has said he expects an agreement to be made regarding a fight with Joshua, but for now the latter will be focusing his efforts on defending his belts against 38-year-old Povetkin.
