NFF Crisis: Amanju Pinnick Takes Over As President Again!

Chairman Of The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), Amanju Pinnick has confirmed his return to office after weeks of crisis.

On Monday, The Federal Government ejected Chris Giwa from office with a directive order and Pinnick has now been restored to office.

Muhammad Sanusi, General Secretary of NFF spoke to news agency of Nigeria, NAN from his office in Abuja on Monday.

“I am back to my office to assume my legal responsibilities with a clearance from the government,” he said.

Also a source who spoke with a condition of anonymity told the agency that NFF President Pinnick would also resume to office after his assignments abroad.

“I can assure you that the president will also resume his duties soon,” he said.

NAN reports that the endless leadership crisis of the NFF took a new turn on July 2nd when Chris Giwa's took over the glass house secretariat citing a court judgment.

Minister Of Youth And Sports, Solomon Dalung had earlier claimed the NFF should comply with the Supreme Court Judgment that over-turned the 2014 election of Amanju Pinnick as president.

The court also ordered that the status quo be maintained at the Glass House.

Dalung said the directive followed a written notification by the Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice requesting the Federal Ministry of Youth and Sports to ensure compliance.
