Arsenal Ace Peter Cech Slams Bayern Leverkusen For Mocking Him (Photo)

Arsenal Goalkeeper Peter Cech has hit back at Bayern Leverkusen after he was mocked by the Bundesliga club for his mistake in the 2-0 defeat to Manchester City.

Cech was expected to play out from the back, but the plan backfired in the first half of the match.

After a back-pass from Matteo Guendouzi, the former Chelsea Goalkeeper came close to playing the ball into his own net.

On Monday, Leverkusen took to Twitter to mock Cech and wrote:

"In case you all were wondering how to play out of the back...😂😂😂"

However, Cech has now fired back on Tuesday suggesting that they have not shown "professionalism and sportsmanship".

“At Arsenal, we share important values which make us a big club not only on the football side,” Cech posted on Twitter.

“Fair competition, professionalism and sportsmanship are the biggest ones you teach young footballers and it’s sad to see when other clubsdon’t share the same values @bayer04_en.”

Immediately after Cech's Tweet, the German club replied by claiming it was 'only a bit of banter' before praising him for his one-on-one save against Sergio Aguero in the second half.

They wrote: 'Hi Petr. It seems our joke about wanting to see Leno, our former player, in action has been taken a bit more harshly/personally than intended.

'It was only a bit of banter. We’re all for the values you’ve stated and wish you and your big club all the best. Nice 1v1 save on Aguero!'
