Liverpool Vs PSG: Coach Thomas Tuchel Confirms Neymar, Mbappe Team News

Paris Saint-Germain Coach has said he knows 10 of the 11 players that would start the match against Liverpool in the Champions League.

The Reds host French club PSG in an highly anticipated match at Anfield (8pm) in the first group stage game of this season’s Champions League.

Forward Neymar was rested while Mbappe served the first of the three match ban for their 4-0 win over Saint-Etienne last night.

Neymar and Mbappe - who watched on together from the stands at the Parc desPrinces - already have four goals apiece this term, having also contributed three assists combined, and will be the main men to stop for Jurgen Klopp and co.

Paris Saint-Germain's First Five Matches This Season:

August 4 - Trophee des Champions - PSG 4-0 Monaco

August 12 - Ligue 1 - PSG 3-0 Caen

August 18 - Ligue 1 - Guingamp 1-3 PSG

August 25 - Ligue 1 - PSG 3-1 Angers

September 1 - Ligue 1 - Nimes 2-4 PSG

And it is certain they will start as part of a front trio alongside Edinson Cavani at the Merseyside.

But Coach Tuchel has admitted he still needs to conclude on some decisions for his starting line-up.

Previewing their Group C opener, Tuchel told Canal+ Sport: “I know 10 [of the 11 starting players].

“Not yet the 11th, and I do not know my game system.”

Julian Draxler, Cavani, Angel Di Maria and Moussa Diary all scored as PSG secured their fifth successive Ligue 1 match in which they have scored three goals.

And Thomas Tuchel became the first ever manager of the capital club to win their first five French top-flight matches in charge.

Discussing the victory to reporters, Tuchel added: "I'm very happy with this victory, our sixth in a row since the start of the season.

“It's important to several options when we play. Today we were without Neymar and Kylian and I'm happy to have used players that were here during the international break.

“It was a difficult first half and Saint-Etienne played very well. We lost too many easy balls and that gave our opponents solutions.

“In the second half, we attacked down the wings more and we found more space for Di Maria and Julian Draxler.

“It was a good rehearsal, good for the confidence ahead of Tuesday's match in Anfield against Liverpool. It will be a big test for us, but we are confident."

Meanwhile, Liverpool are in action today as they take on Premier League rival Tottenham at Wembley (12:30pm).
