Manchester United Stop Contract Talks With Paul Pogba (Details)

Manchester United have reportedly stopped and postponed contract talks with midfielder Paul Pogba amid transfer links.

Pogba is only two years into his five years contract and United have the option of extending his deal by another year to keep him at the club until 2022.

The frenchman was thought to be keen for a exit after his relationship with Coach Jose Mourinho got worse despite his success with France in Russia.

Nevertheless, The Red Devils are determined to keep the play-maker and had initiated contract talks with Pogba's agent Mino Raiola in August.

But, According to ESPN, United have now postponed talks of a further contract as they see little value in speaking to Pogba about his future at this moment in time.

The Former Juventus player has refused to clarify his future and yesterday stated he could still leave the club in January.

"My future is currently in Manchester.

"I still have a contract, I'm playing there at the moment, but who knows what will happen in the next few months," Pogba said.

Though, United are very confident due to the years still remaining on Pogba's contract which will keep him at Old Trafford for at least three more years.

Coach Jose Mourinho is reportedly not too worried about selling Pogba and is thought to already have a replacement in form of Lazio midfielder Sergej Milinkovic-Savic.

Milinkovic-Savic has forged a reputation as one of Serie A’s top midfield talents over the past couple of years.

And it would take a sizeable portion of the fee United would secure for Pogba in order to prise him away from Lazio.

The Italian press claim Mourinho’s agent, Jorge Mendes, is close to Milinkovic-Savic and he could broker a deal for United.
