Real Madrid Ace Sergio Ramos Aims Dig At Cristiano Ronaldo

Real Madrid defender Sergio Ramos has aimed a Dig at former teammate Cristiano Ronaldo ahead of FIFA's The Best awards ceremony later this month.

Ronaldo has made the three final shortlist which is also known as the Golden Ballon D'or Award.

The Portuguese Ace has won five and also rival Lionel Messi has won five.

But he face less competition for the award, with Luka Modric and Mohamed Salah the other two finalists.

Ronaldo left Real Madrid for Juventus this summer in a £105m deal and is yet to score playing in three Serie A matches so far.

And Defender Sergio Ramos has aimed a dig at Ronaldo which discussing who he thinks should win the award.

He said to ESPN: “We will see. There are few players that I am as proud of having in my team as him [Modric].

"He is a great friend and a great player. He is one of the few players who [if he wins] would make me as happy as if they had given it to me.

"Maybe there are players with more marketing, with a bigger name but Modric deserves that award."

When asked whether he was referring to anyone in particular with that comment, Ramos said: “No. But since there is nothing that defines [who should win] the prize, everything adds up [to Modric winning the award]."

Modric recently beat Ronaldo to be named the UEFA Men’s Player of the Year award at the Champions League group stage draw last month, with Salah also on the three-man shortlist in Monaco.

Ronaldo's Agent Jorge Mendes reacted badly to the decision which snubbed the Portuguese.

In response to Mendes’ claims, Ramos added: "I will not answer Mendes. Everyone has his opinion. It is respectable.

"Flattery and criticism are always in our profession. Everyone can say what they want but in my opinion the prize [going] to Modric is very well deserved."
