Report: Chelsea Set To Change Club Crest (Details)

Chelsea chiefs have been given the permission to alter the club crest design.

According to The Express, Plans are already underway to make adjustments to the current design approved by Roman Abramovich in 2005.

The existing crest, which was released following Abramovich’s purchase of the club, features a lion holding a staff, which is the Earl of Cadogan's coat of arms.

The Express report the lion will stay but adjustments are currently being made to the font as part of the rebuild.

A source said: “The crest is being redesigned. There won’t be massive changes but it’s being given a freshen up.”

After his purchase of the club in 2005, Abramovich restored the lion to Club's crest and fans were delighted with the development.

The Russian has since made Chelsea a very global brand but there are speculations he could sell the club anytime soon.

The Blues have started the new season in fine form with four wins out of four matches in the Premier League.
