Revealed! Why Leroy Sane Left Germany Squad

Leroy Sane has left Germany's squad months after being ommitted from the 2018 World Cup which took place in Russia.

Sane was on fire and won the PFA Young Player Of The Year Award after the 2017-18 season.

He scored 10 goals and provided 15 assists during Manchester City's title winning campaign, but fans were left shocked even me after he missed out on a place in Germany's World Cup squad.

Die Mannschaft manager Joachim Low explained the situation in June, saying: "It was a very tight decision between him and Julian Brandt (of Bayer Leverkusen), which went in favour of Brandt."

Brandt ended up coming on a substitute in each of Germany's three disastrous group stages matches.

Sane is also losing out on his spot in Manchester City's squad and has not featured recently for the club.

The 22-year-old was called up for the two-weeks international break, but the German FA yesterday announced that Sane has left the nation’s training base, ahead of their home friendly with Peru on Sunday.

“Following discussions with head coach Joachim Low, Leroy Sane has left the team hotel in Munich for private reasons and will not be available for #GERPER,” DFB tweeted.

The decision comes after Germany’s 0-0 draw in the UEFA Nations League against France, in which Sane made a seven-minute cameo.
