Chelsea C.E.O Roman Abramovich Makes £60m Transfer Decison

C.E.O Roman Abramovich has told Chelsea chiefs that the new manager would have only £60m to spend on transfers.

The billionaire Russian is unwilling to spend big after the Club's failure to qualify for the Champions League, according to transfer expert Ian McGarry.

Antonio Conte remains in charge but is set to be sacked with his replacement already known.

Napoli Boss Maurizio Sarri is set to take over anytime after weeks of negotiation between both parties.

McGarry told the Transfer Talk podcast:

"Roman Abramovich has informed the executives at Chelsea at the club and training ground who deal with transfers that the new manager will have between £50m to £60m this summer to improve ateam which finished outside the top four.

"Chelsea players have been questioning their own futures with regards to next season. Eden Hazard and Thibaut Courtois chief among them during this World Cup because they want to see who the new manager is and what the club's ambition is.

"You're looking at quite a desparate environment at Chelsea right now.

"Antonio Conte hasn't even been paid off yet, which is the reason the appointment of a new coach has been held up.

"I'm told that will be resolved this week - allowing (Maurizio) Sarri to be appointed."

Despite Sarri being ready to join the Blues, Chelsea are yet to make contact with Napoli for the manager, according to the Italian club's president.

"The call from London has not arrived," said Aurelio De Laurentiis when asked whether the Blues have made an official approach for Sarri.

Napoli have already appointed Carlo Ancelloti as new manager, but Sarri remains under contract with the Serie A Club.
