England Vs Panama: Starting XI Leaked!

Raheem Sterling looks set to be on the bench after photographers at England's open training session appeared to uncover the lineup for the match against Panama.

All focus was initially on Gareth Southgate, who took training with heavy strapping but no sling despite dislocating his shoulder during a run near the team hotel on Wednesday.

However, as his assistant Steve Holland organised balls in a net before the session, his notebook was exposed to the long lenses with the full formation written out and each back-up player listed beneath the main names.

Dele Alli will be replaced by Ruben Ruben Loftus-Cheek, after the Tottenham Ace was included in his own section marked "medical".

But another big Suprise in the team that defeated Tunisia on Monday is the inclusion of Marcus Rashford for Raheem Sterling.

It means Ashley Young keeps his place ahead of Danny Rose – although that took a second photograph to clarify as Holland’s thumb was across the left wing-back shot in the initial photograph.

Yesterday, England players insisted that until the team is formally announced, they would all be playing hard to get the call up.

“We haven’t been directly told who is starting and who isn’t,” said Trent Alexander-Arnold.

“All positions are still up for grabs.

“Until the manager actually names the team it doesn’t matter what comes out or leaked or anything. The lads don’t really focus on things like that until it’s come out of the manager’s mouth. They’re the only words that really matter to us.

“We’re trying not to get caught up in articles and things like that. Until the manager names the team everyone is still fighting for their position.

”The Liverpool defender also admitted the entire camp were well aware of how costly such leaks of information can be.

“Gareth does not tell us not to pass on the team – I guess it is just general knowledge to do that,” Alexander-Arnold said.

“You don’t want the opposition to find out who is playing and who is not until they have to.

“You probably want to tell your family and friends but you want to keep it underwraps as much as possible.

TEAM: Pickford; Walker, Stones, Maguire; Trippier, Lingard, Henderson, Loftus-Cheek, Young; Kane, Rashford.
