Nigeria 2-0 Iceland: Why My Players Failed To Handle Ahmed Musa - Iceland Coach, Hallgrimsson

Iceland Coach, Heimer Hallgrimsson has admitted his side struggled to keep up with the pace of Nigeria's Ahmed Musa in yesterday's 2-0 defeat to Nigeria.

Ahmed scored a Brace and gave the Super Eagles hope of qualifying for the last 16.

Speaking at his post-match press conference, Hallgrimsson insists they still have a chance to qualify for the knockout stages.

“We had our game plan and we stuck to it. Sometimes you have to admit that some players turn up when you least expected. The pace which Musa ‎used in getting behind our defence will trouble any defender in the world,” Hallgrimsson said.

“My defenders did really well but Musa was very quick for them. Same as he would be against most defenders I have seen at this World Cup. The chance to qualify is still there for us.

Iceland are third in Group D with one point ahead of their final group match against Costa next Tuesday.
