World Cup 2018: FIFA Strips Diego Maradona Of Ambassador Role (Details)

Argentina Legend, Diego Maradona will no longer be paid as an ambassador of World Football Governing Body, FIFA.

This is after the football legend failed to control his emotions during Argentina's 2-1 win over Nigeria on Tuesday.

Maradona celebrated Marcos Rojo's late winner for Argentina by raising his middle finger at fans which meant "F*** You".

FIFA have now reacted and described his behavior as embarrassing and provocative.

According to OwnGoal, he will no longer receive the £10,000 paid by FIFA for attending matches at the 2018 World Cup.

Maradona also ignored warnings by medical staffs not to watch the match thereby putting his health in danger.

FIFA have also warned him to be of good conduct in the remaining games he will attend at the World Cup.

If Maradona does behave the same way again, FIFA could issue the former Napoli man a stadium ban.
