World Cup 2018: FIFA To Pay All Eliminated Teams £6.1m Each [Prizes]

The Super Eagles of Nigeria and other teams who are now eliminated from the 2018 World Cup will be paid £6.1m each by FIFA.


Nigeria would have been given £9.1m if the match against Argentina ended in a victory.


This is because any team eliminated from the round of 16 at the tournament in Russia will be given £9.1m.


The World Cup winners will receive £28m, 2nd place will receive £21m and so on.


Prize Money At 2018 World Cup


1st [Champions] - £28m
2nd - £21m
3rd - £18m
4th - £16m


This means that each player in the World Cup winning 23-man squad would pocket £1.2m.


Also, The 32 teams who qualified for the finals in Russia were given £1.1m each to prepare for the tournament.
