World Cup 2018: Toni Kroos Blasts Critics After Scoring Winner Vs Sweden

Real Madrid Midfielder, Toni Kroos has hit back at Germany's critics after scoring a last minute winner yesterday against Sweden.

The match ended 2-1 in favour of Germany and kept their hopes of reaching the knockout stages alive.

Mexico are 1st in Group F with six points while Sweden and Germany are both on three points.

Toni Kroos has now reacted to critics about the team's performance so far in the tournament.

“I think we deserved the late goal. We were criticised a lot,” Kroos said after the match.

“You had the feeling that many would have enjoyed itif we had been eliminated. But it did not come to that.”

Kroos: "Sweden's first goal is my fault, I take the blame. You miss a pass or two. It's normal but it was my mistake. But in the end I fixed it, didn't I? They [people wanting Germany to get knocked out] won't send us home easily."

Kroos: "We were criticized, sometimes with good reason. Many would've been happy if we had lost. 1st goal was my fault but it goes like this;

Speaking about the criticism that they have received at the tournament, Kroos replied, ‘If you play 400 passes, then sometimes two go wrong.

“You then have to have the balls to play a second half. But nobody will see that again.”
