World Cup 2018: Uruguay 3-0 Russia (Details & Facts)

Uruguay have defeated Russia 3-0 to secure top spot in Group A at the 2018 World Cup.


The match started with both sides offering more in attack but neither failed to get on the scoresheet.


Uruguay took the lead after a stunning free-kick by Luis Suarez went past Goalkeeper Akinfeev in the 9th minute.


Uruguay told the lead again by a deflection off a Russian player and the ball went all the way into the net past Akinfeev in the 23rd minute.

The 2nd-half started with more attacking play from both sides but both failed to score with many chances.


In the 90th Minute, Uruguay got a third from a corner which was saved by Akinfeev but the ball fell Kindly to Edinson Canavi who struck the ball home to secure all three points.


Uruguay finish the group stages with 9 points, 5 goals scored and 0 goals conceded.


While, Russia finish the group stages with 6 stages, 8 goals and 1 goal conceded.
