#WorldCup2018: South Korea 2-0 Germany, 2014 Champions Eliminated (Details & Facts)

Germany have crashed out the World Cup after a shock 2-0 defeat to South Korea on Wednesday.

South Korea's Kim Young-gwon scored in extra time after a VAR review which confirmed the goal wasn't offside.

Son Heung-min added the second goal just before the final whistle after Goalkeeper Manuel Neuer trying to score left his goalpost open and the South Koreans took advantage.

The 2014 Champions, who had not been eliminated from the World Cup first round since 1938 were a shadow of themselves scoring only two goals in three group stage matches.

South Korea also eliminated had the best chance of the game when Manuel Neuer spilled a free-kick in the 19th minute but quickly recovered.

The Germans increased the pressure after halftime and poured more attacking options onto the pitch but despite their dominance they failed to score a single goal with many chances.

In the other match, Mexico survived a scare after a 3-0 defeat by Sweden who eventually finished top of Group F with six points.
