OFFICIAL: Spain Appoint Luis Enrique As New Manager After World Cup Exit

Spain have appointed ex Barcelona Boss Luis Enrique as their new manager.

Enrique has singed a two-year deal which sees him lead the country until 2020.

Enrique's appointment comes after their exit from the 2018 World Cup in Russia after losing to Russia in the round of 16.

Before the World Cup, Spain FA sacked manager Julen Lopetegui just a day before the tournament after he had been announced as the new Real Madrid manager.

Fernando Hierro guided the Spaniards through the group stage but was powerless to stop them from being eliminated in the hands of Russia.

Enrique's appointment follows hot on the heels of former Villarreal boss Jose Francisco Molina being announced as Hierro's successor in a backroom role.

Enrique and Molina, who collected 71 caps between them, will be eager to guide Spain to Euro 2020 without any fuss.

Spain will discover their qualifying stage opponents when the draw is made at Dublin's Convention Centre on December 2.

Spain's seeding for the draw will be determined by their performance in the 2018/19 UEFA Nations League.

Qualifying for Euro 2020, which is being held across the continent, will take place in 2019 between March 21 and November 19 .

Enrique will be in the Spain dugout for the first time when they take on Wales in a friendly in October.
